Birth of Word of God Fellowship Church

(1994 -      )

I’m sitting at my computer remembering the events that led up to the birth of, "WORD OF GOD FELLOWSHIP CHURCH.”  Needless to say, God had been at work in our lives for many years when at times we felt He had abandoned us for which we could not blame him. Our spiritual legs were often very weak (“The Footprints in the Sand”). Several years prior to our ministry being birthed, we would find ourselves buying items such as Keyboards and PA Systems, only to bring them home and put them in the closet and several times threatening to sell them. God just seemed to stop the sale.

On Wednesday, May 18, l994, I realized for the first time why God had allowed us to purchase the instruments and etc. Little did I realize, this was the beginning of an anointed journey God would supernaturally pour out upon us for His Glory. Beginning with a ONE-night Bible and Prayer meeting that has never stopped. The Bible Study began in our living room, however soon it became evident that God was moving and we were forced from one larger room to the next ‘til we ended up in our heated two-car garage.  We put carpet down, we dressed up the walls, and we had a Church. We held services only once a week.  God began challenging us to do more.  So, we began having two services.  However, six months later it seemed God wasn’t finished stretching our faith. He called us out of the garage church, in order to be as a Lighthouse visible to others and established within our community. “WHAT GOD!”, I exclaimed and continued to reason,  “GOD, you know there is NO money.” (Faith my friend is the acceptance of a FACT not yet realized.) WOW!!! Time nor space doesn’t permit me to expound on all the ways God has continually and miraculously worked.

We went from our garage to an A-Frame building. Then moved to a multi-business complex with a leaky roof and without the luxury of windows, and A/C (even in Maine it gets HOT). This was in October of 1994. At this time we were also officially recognized by the State of Maine as a Religious Non Profit Organization. God is faithful.  Two years later God opened the door to a beautiful country chapel completely renovated including a Steeple Bell that we still ring each Sunday morning. We won’t discuss what the parking conditions were, but I will praise God for He has provided us with a newly paved parking lot.  In addition to God blessing us with this church He also, blessed Glenna and I (Summer 2002), by moving our doublewide in behind the church on a spacious newly paved Lot.

We were able to purchase TV equipment, which has allowed us to reach into many homes.  Currently we are in the process of expanding our viewing audience to other communities as well as start a radio broadcast.
